How the health care ruling could affect hiring

Religious leaders pray over a bible and a copy of the verdict on President Barack Obama's healthcare overhaul law??For American businesses, uncertainty over the health care law is anything but over.

When the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare on Thursday-including the individual mandate that forces most Americans to have insurance-it made the issue even more political, promising it ultimately will be decided in the November presidential election.

GOP candidate Mitt Romney vowed again Thursday to repeal the act if elected, while President Obama said he would move forward in implementing it.

That means businesses will have a hard time budgeting for health care costs and are likely to delay hiring even further.

U.S. corporations are sitting on more than $1.2 trillion in cash - $3.5 trillion counting the financial sector - that has not been deployed, in large part due to anxiety over health care, the looming fiscal cliff in Washington, and the European debt crisis.

The Supreme Court decision "increases the likelihood that businesses will continue to hold onto that cash to see how the election turns out," said Greg Valliere, chief political strategist at Potomac Research Group in Washington, D.C. "If Romney wins, he will overturn the Affordable Care Act within days of his inauguration on Jan. 20. Therefore, the reluctance of businesses to spend and hire will persist at least through the election."

The court decision hinged on the individual mandate, a provision the court upheld so long as it is called a "tax" rather than a "penalty" as the law's wording originally indicated.

"From a political standpoint, this significantly improves the chance that Romney wins in November," said Valliere, who called the decision a "Pyrrhic victory" for Obama. "Congress was too chicken to use the word 'tax' because it has such a pejorative implication for voters...Of course, the Supreme Court doesn't have to run for re-election."

That political advantage may cheer the Romney supporters, but it does little to assuage concerns of business leaders and investors alike who were hoping to get the health care issue resolved.

Obamacare serves as one point in a daunting triad of uncertainty the business climate faces.

There also is the accelerating debt crisis in the euro zone, as well as the fiscal cliff, a term coined by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to describe the automatic spending cuts and tax increases that kick in at the beginning of 2013 if Congress fails to agree to a deficit-reduction plan.

To be sure, the reaction to the decision was mixed, with some saying that the decision, good or bad, at least will allow companies to plan for the future.

"As flawed as it is, it still has taken us some way along the path to reduce some uncertainty," said James Paulsen, chief market strategist at Wells Capital Management in Minneapolis. "To throw it all out would have put us back to square one and, net-net, a loss for the country."

Paulsen added that he was glad that what essentially was a political decision did not get overturned at the judicial level.

But the political considerations are no small part of what happens going forward. Not only will the fate of the law under a Romney administration hang in the balance, but there also remain a number of questions with how the mandate will be implemented.

"The level of uncertainty about the outlook and ultimate cost to business of the health care reform bill remains somewhat," said David Resler, chief economist at Nomura Securities in New York. "It kind of leaves us where we were."

Among the questions Resler pointed out will be how the Internal Revenue Service collects the new tax, and how reporting will take place. He compared it to the Dodd-Frank banking reform law, which still has many provisions that are being negotiated.

"Most of the scheduled implementation for that has not been met, and it's not clear that the provisions under the health care law will be met as originally envisioned in the law," Resler said. "There's still some uncertainty, but businesses have some clarity about the rules of the road, so to speak, going forward."

The stock market reacted negatively to the decision, sending major averages and health care stocks in particular down about 1 percent or more across the board, though the market could be more inclined to move onto other concerns in future days.

"Stocks themselves are just going to pretty much crash because of what's happening with Europe and because of the fiscal cliff in the U.S.," said Lee Markowitz, partner at Continental Capital Advisors in New York. "The broader issues are so much bigger than some increase in spending related to health care."

My Special Education | eitheory.com

When my sister was born, she was clearly unusual.? Her appearance, her distinctive facial and physical features were a curious, unexplainable phenomenon.? I remember thinking, ?Where did this baby come from?? Whose baby is this?? ?

My sister, as an infant, had dark, almost black, upturned eyes, a flat nose, a small mouth and large tongue.? Her ears were curved inward. ?She had a single crease across both?palms of her tiny hands, short stubby fingers, tiny feet with a larger than normal space between the big toes and the rest of them. ?

She was extraordinarily double-jointed.

I didn?t know that the features that gave my sister her unique appearance were the physical elements that made people with Down syndrome recognizable.

Lying in her crib, I often peered in at her; she, staring into space, her dark eyes, like the black buttons that closed my winter coat, fixed on the musical mobile dangling above her head.? I don?t remember her ever crying or laughing or making any sound, really.? She was always silent, lying on her back, occasionally moving her feet and hands.?

For the first three years of her life, my sister couldn?t roll over, sit-up or stand; and she couldn?t talk. ?She shifted her position only minimally, often with help.? Around three years, she started to roll over, sit up, maneuver herself onto all fours and sit in a chair without slumping into a bunch.? She experienced some level of independence at around four years, scooting across the floor, propelling herself by thrusting her legs and feet forward and humping herself onward. ?

She grew and developed in her own way along her own timeline.

?I hate it,? she told me one day as we prepared to go to her job at McDonald?s.?She cleared and wiped down tables. She was around twenty-two.??I hate it.? ??She looked down at her lap, seemingly talking to herself.

I reached to pull her seatbelt over her ever-expanding waistline. ?Why?? I asked. ?You like working there.?

?They make fron? a me.?

?Who??

?The kids; the kids;?make fron? a me.? Her eyes magnified behind her thick glasses, smudged and always in need of a good cleaning, searched for answers that, even if I could explain, would never really ring true for her.?

Even now, my sister survives on the belief that people are essentially good; and each time she experiences the recklessness of others, her expression is consistently a mix of deep sadness, regret and the hope that she will be forgiven for being so unusual ? so much unlike others that she could only expect forgiveness from them. ?

All people with Down syndrome have some degree of mental retardation or developmental delay. ?They are, however, far from being incapable of learning, especially to the degree that emotional expression, social expectation and the way in which others treat them as normal. ?I know I am well outside the boundaries of making a generalization, but it is my best judgment that people with Down syndrome are quite emotionally adept,?genius at expressing affection toward others. Their intellectual capacity cannot be reliably predicted in infancy, but their ability to express love and caring toward others is evident from a very early age. ?(I am well within my comfort zone making this generalization, and I?invite my reader to take exception with it.)

My sister entered school at around the same age as other children, only she spent her days in a room where the window in the door was covered with construction paper. ??I never saw her at recess, and we never sat together at lunch.? Knowing her as I did, I could only imagine that she was content among her friends and teachers, never questioning the good intentions of those who were responsible for her care and education.?

My sister went from elementary, to junior and on to senior high school seated behind a window covered in construction paper.

When she was twenty, she graduated from high school; and for all her efforts, she was mailed a diploma and a copy of her yearbook.? Inside were an empty oval where her picture should have been and a barren, blank square where her biography might have been printed, if anyone had taken notice of her.

Of course, when she got the book?in the mail, my sister leafed through it.? She had no idea that her picture should be there, alongside the other members of her graduating class.? She couldn?t even have imagined such an honor. She was content to look over the familiar faces she remembered from school ? the lunch lady, pictures of the abandoned hallways, the quad.

My mother, much less content, contacted the school and demanded that my sister?s picture be duplicated and sent by mail to everyone who had purchased a yearbook.? Not only should there be a picture, but my mother strongly suggested that my sister?s favorite color, her favorite song, her most commonly spoken phrase and her most cherished memory accompany the photo in exactly the same proportions as the oval and blank spaces that were provided to my sister on page 31 of her?yearbook.

My sister was quite proud when she pointed out her own picture in the yearbook, after discovering it one day, glued perfectly within the spaces inside her yearbook ? as if it had always been there, proof that she was like everyone else.? She looked up at me, through those damnable glasses, kissed her hand and brought it down on top of her own picture. ?S?me,? she said, ?S?me.??She laughed, extending her long tongue as she drew in more air to feed her belly laugh.

My sister has never been like anyone else, really. She is my?cherished and pure spirit, someone who is never?truly unhappy for long or without a friend.? Her life has been a hearty handshake, a warm and sincere hug and a promise for unconditional positive regard toward everyone she meets, no matter who they are or how they may have treated her in the past. I can never imagine comparing myself to my sister?s strength of character and her dedication to the idea that everyone possesses inherent goodness ? if we just take the time to see it.

My sister?s medical and cognitive impairments have increased over the years; they?unravel the mystery of her human condition more and more each day; but from the day she came home from the hospital, wrapped in a yellow, satin edged blanket, she was the most wonderful gift I could ever have received in my life.? She has been my special education. From that day forward, she was assimilated into our family and our neighborhood, complete with her own unique personality, her own strengths and her own weaknesses, to become the strong-willed, sensitive and tremendously good-humored woman she is today.

Will I Have To Pay A Consultation Fee? | REALTOR.com? Blogs

questions

Q: Is there a fee to put a my house on the market through a Realtor?
?Sissy, Odessa, TX

A: It depends each office is different. A lot of bigger companies will offer a start up fee. Just interview a bunch of different companies and see which ones do it for free for you.
Matt Laricy is a Realtor? with Americorp Real Estate in Chicago, IL.

A: Usually not, the Realtors are paid at closing from the seller?s proceeds per the terms of the listing agreement. In California, real estate agents cannot charge up front fees except in very limited circumstances.
Teri Andrews Murch is a Realtor? with Lyon Real Estate in Auburn, CA.

A: No. You should be able to hear all the services an agent can offer you, including a valuation of your home, without paying. If an agent tries to charge you for that, call someone else. Once you sign a listing agreement with the realtor, the agent?s broker and agent will not receive compensation until your home is sold. Unless the agent has retained a fee of some sort (i.e., for marketing purposes). if your house does not sell, the agent and her broker will not be paid. It is possible for a Realtor to lose money trying to sell a house that does not sell.
Vilma Colon-Oliver is a Realtor? with Meybohm Realtors ? Augusta in Evans, GA.

A: Be prepared to pay a Realtor 6% of the selling price to market and sell your home. Your Realtor will usually split this 50/50 with the Buyers agent (The agent that brings the buyer for your home). Your Agent will also have to split a part of his share with his Broker for office overhead and other expenses.

So for instance if you sold your home for $100K the real estate commission would be $6000. Seller?s closing costs can run as high as 3% of the sale price so deduct another $3000. and your total cost would be approximately $900.
Lee Dworshak is a Realtor? with Keller Williams LA Harbor Realty in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

A: While not unheard of, it is not typical for Realtors to charge fees up front for marketing a house. Most Realtors are paid a commission based on a percentage of the selling price and are paid at closing. Keep in mind, though, that fees paid for selling your home are always negotiable, both in the amount you pay and when you pay it.
Phil Lunnon is a Realtor? with Lunnon Realty in Lakewood, CO.

The complications of contraception are amended with hormonal birth

Information and the natural process of pregnancy:

Contraception is a form of birth control and it is defined as a method which is used for preventing pregnancy. The term ?contraception? has been derived from two separate words ? ?contra? which means against and ?conception? which means fertilisation. Contraception is used by both men and women but the methods differ. There is no denying the fact that when it comes to reducing the risk of unwanted pregnancy, the need for using contraceptive methods is higher among women, compared to men. The menstrual cycle of every woman who has attained puberty is controlled by two sex hormones ? oestrogen and progestogen ? that are naturally produced in their physical system. Throughout the monthly cycle, the level of these two hormones keeps changing, which is necessary for the release of an egg in the ovary. If an egg is not released, there is little chance of pregnancy. The newer contraceptive pills function exactly in the same way to provide a sexually active woman with the freedom from the risk of unwanted pregnancy.

How does it work?

The modern methods of hormonal contraception comprise different avenues, including combined oral contraceptive pills, mini pills, contraceptive rings and patches. However, the most common of these methods is the use of combined oral contraceptive pills. Except mini pills, the rest of the methods contain chemicals that are similar to a great extent to the natural oestrogen and progestogen that is produced in a woman?s body. Regular administration of these methods allows the chemicals to imitate the action of their natural counterparts. The synthetic hormones override the natural chemical cycle, stop the continuous change in hormonal level in a woman?s body and prevent the release of an egg in the ovary. The hormonal contraceptive methods guarantee further protection from the risk of unwanted pregnancy by thickening the cervical fluid or the mucus at the neck of ovary. While this step doesn?t allow sperm to enter the womb, the final step of hormonal contraceptives, which is changing the womb lining, doesn?t allow an impregnated egg to attach itself to the uterine wall.

Who can take the pill?

Any sexually active woman who is over 18 years of age and doesn?t have any serious underlying health conditions can use hormonal contraceptives. The certain conditions that may make administration of hormonal contraceptives unsafe are:

  • the risk of developing blood clots
  • serious cardiovascular disease
  • a case of suspected or confirmed pregnancy
  • possibility of being physically immobile for a long period of time
  • smoking over 20 cigarettes a day
  • breastfeeding
  • certain gene mutations that increases the chances of blood clots

Procedure to get online treatment:

A woman willing to purchase these medications may take the help of a legally registered online clinic of the UK. These online clinics offer you the opportunity to purchase the medication of your preference using a free online consultation. If you are found to be medically fit to use the method of your preference, you will receive access to the member?s area and request your requirement easily here at onlineclinic.co.uk

For Sale By Owner - The Process of Selling Your Home Yourself

Sell your home yourself and obtain full selling price and pay no charges. Selling real estate quick hasn't been an easy job. Selling your home right to the buyer provides you with much more advantages. Because there could be no presence of a realtor who may have other interests in your mind. Individuals thinking about purchasing a house would benefit largely with fsbo purchases. Selling your home by using a property buying company is a little known technique that everybody is using to sell homes quick in the current market. Sellers have bombarded the property market because of the present economic turmoil. Selling your property the fsbo way can be quite attractive since you pay simply no commissions and possess total treatments for your sale. Selling a house through the for sale by owner style is usually debated within the real estate community. We definitely don't blame you for trying to sell your home yourself, instead of using the help of an agent.

Any amendments or supplements to buy contracts should be written around the standard addenda. These forms offer most frequent amendments and changes to buy contracts. Because of this you'll have limited exposure to qualified buyers. If your seller promotes a house like a fsbo, and a buyer who is not dealing with a real estate agent wishes to get your home, the seller pays absolutely no commission because virtually no realtors play in the process. To be able to simplify the owner finance scenario, you ought to have a potential investor prepared for the freshly developed income. These kind of homes can be found on for sale by owner listings that are available on the internet. While a for sale by owner purchase can eliminate the presence of the real estate agent in the deal, it will bring on a lot more responsibilities and dangers for buyer and seller.

Aspen homes for sale

Consumers of for sale by owner houses can meet online, with useful resources directories for lawyers, appraisers, home loan and home remodeling companies. These types of sites area websites that can help you receive serious buyers. You'll find houses or market and sell your very own for sale by owner property. You may also bargain using the seller to get a cheaper closing price, that is if you if did your homework around the house.

Selling a house is not really that simple. Selling real estate by yourself also needs plenty of work, from forms to marketing to showing possible buyers the home. Selling real estate fsbo puts sellers in a hard position. Due to the responsibilities normally handled by the realtor has become at the disposal of the vendor. Selling real estate requires an in-depth and thorough understanding of the housing market. You need to be aware of such things as how to locate the very best motivated buyers, and many other steps that result in a successful sale. Selling a property is as significant as purchasing one. I purchase properties constantly and one good thing about supplying a trader is that you can stay in the home right until your new rentals are prepared to move into. Should you ever consider selling your house keep in mind to give a trader a call.

Your Company Needs A CCO. Now. | Conspire: A Mindjet Publication

We are all told that team work is a critical key to team success. For those fortunate enough to witness successful team work first hand, we can certainly attest that if you can pull it off you will have some truly extraordinary results. However, successful collaboration is not only a top priority for organizations, but also it?s becoming more complicated. So how does a company help foster an environment where productive team work is the norm?

With all the recent advancements in mobile technology having large, geographically dispersed teams are quickly becoming the norm. Despite all the advantages of these teams, there are some growing concerned that need to be addressed. With more and more employees telecommuting, it?s becoming extremely difficult to build team trust. In an attempt to solve this issue, about two years ago the Harvard Business Review came up with an answer: the Chief Collaboration Officer.

According to a recent Fast Company article, by implementing a Chief Collaboration Officer ?the most critical of business strategies [will now] have a dedicated individual toiling to make collaboration part of the daily doings of the company.? Interestingly enough, despite the growing need for someone to fill this role ? whether it?s by establishing a new role or adding it to an existing role ? ?there?s only one CCO in the US.?

Todd Etter, one of the founders of the multimedia financial-services company, the Motley Fool, has held the title of Chief Collaboration Office since 2010. Given that according to a Fast Company article last May, that this is the only company to have such a role, it?s safe to say that the Motley Fool is no ordinary company. They have made it a point to stick with a core philosophy of ?enhancing productivity through unconventional practices.? We?ve all been in a situation where you are working on a team project but the easiest route is to just do it yourself. However, Tom Gardner, Motley Fools? cofounder and CEO believes, ?it?s often not the best idea.? That?s where the idea of a Chief Collaboration Officer comes in.

Working Alongside vs. Collaborating

Todd Etter says there?s ?a big difference between working alongside other staff members and actually collaborating.? In one you are only giving the pretense of collaborating and in the other, you are successfully feeding off one another. In a recent Foolympics, Etter created a puzzle based off guest speaker Michael Lewis ? author of Moneyball and The Blind Side. So you?d think in an event like this, Lewis? team would be the slam dunk. However, Lewis? team ended up coming in dead last. ?Etter says it was likely because the team hadn?t worked together before and weren?t quick to provide feedback and challenging positions.?

Balance is Important

Another important skill that helps foster productive collaboration is brainstorming. ?Brainstorming is a two-way street,? says Etter. Learning how to both create and listen is an important skill to create successful collaboration. Etter believes that ??Brainstorming is more than just throwing it all out there. Otherwise you have 30 ideas and picking one may hurt you,? says Etter. Instead try to figure out how to riff off two or three. ?That?s fewer ideas but more conversation and thought about what is suggested,? he says.?

Too Much Planning ? More Building

Etter has found that ?teams often spend too much time planning and not enough time building.? Instead of spending time developing the ?perfect strategic plan?, sometimes the best way to get the job done is by going out there and just trying things. ?Kindergartners are the most successful, Etter asserts, because they don?t plan they just start on the structure?Conversely, business school students fare worse because they busy themselves drawing up strategies and run out of time before the first strand is place.?

Whether it?s establishing the Chief Collaboration Officer as a standalone role, or adding those responsibilities into an existing role, it?s something that most of today?s firms should seriously contemplate. Teams are only going to become more dispersed, so learning to effectively and productively collaborate is a skill that isn?t going away any time soon.

Turkey turns to NATO over Syrian attack

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey has accused Syria of shooting down one of its military reconnaissance jets in international airspace without warning and summoned a NATO meeting for Tuesday to agree a response to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkey's cabinet was due to meet on Monday to discuss Friday's incident, which lent a more threatening international dimension to the 16-month-old uprising against Assad. Britain called the attack over the eastern Mediterranean outrageous and said it stood ready to back strong action in the United Nations.

Turkish newspapers welcomed Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's decision to invoke an article in the NATO alliance's founding treaty providing for urgent consultations if a member considered its security interests threatened.

"Turkey has moved into action" both Milliyet and Vatan newspapers declared in headlines under the NATO flag.

Sabah newspaper columnist Mehmet Barlas said some were calling Friday's attack a Syrian declaration of war. "We already know there is an 'undeclared war' being carried out between Turkey and Syria," he said, citing the presence of the Syrian opposition and Syrian refugees sheltering on Turkish soil.

Fierce fighting continued inside Syria, which has a 900 km (550 mile) border with Turkey, with rebel fighters killing dozens of soldiers in the last few days as they fought against army attacks on towns and villages in central, north and eastern Syria in the last several days, according to opposition sources.

Syrian tanks and artillery shelled the eastern city of Deir al-Zor, killing at least 20 people in the second day of heavy bombardment in the country's main oil-producing region, opposition activists said.

"Regime forces have dismantled their roadblocks from inside of Deir al-Zor after incurring heavy losses from rebels. They have withdrawn from residential areas and are now shelling the city from the outskirts. The victims are mostly civilians," a source at a hospital in Deir al-Zor told Reuters.

The official state news agency said "terrorists" abducted a state-appointed head of clerics in Deir al-Zor and blew up an oil pipeline passing through the province.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights, an opposition activists' organization that monitors the crackdown on the 16-month revolt against Assad's rule, said loyalist forces on Sunday killed another 70 people, mostly civilians and soldiers who had tried to defect, elsewhere in the country in shelling, military raids and summary executions in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Idlib, Deraa and suburbs of Damascus.

The intensification of the fighting has raised fears in Turkey of a flood of refugees and a slide into ethnic and religious warfare that could envelop the region. Ankara, like the West, is torn between a wish to remove Assad and the fear that any armed intervention could unleash uncontrollable forces.

WASHINGTON CONDEMNS ATTACK

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called the attack "brazen and unacceptable" and said Washington would cooperate closely with Ankara to promote a transition in Syria. Spanish government sources said European Union foreign ministers would also discuss the incident at a Luxembourg meeting on Monday.

While Turkish newspapers have railed against Assad, Erdogan, not always known for his emotional restraint, has eschewed bellicose rhetoric.

The prime minister, who turned against former ally Assad bitterly after he refused his advice to bow to demands for democratic reform, seemed to back away from any suggestion of an armed response. If he sought some kind of retaliation from the NATO meeting set for Tuesday, he could have invoked another article on mutual defense. That he did not suggests the reaction will remain at least for now on the diplomatic stage.

The foreign ministry said Turkey knew where the wreckage of the RF-4 Phantom jet lay, 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) under water, but had not yet found it. Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the search continued for the two crew.

He said the jet had been clearly marked as Turkish and dismissed Syria's assertion it had not identified the aircraft, flying low and very fast, before opening fire.

RUSSIAN VETO

Some analysts said the aircraft could have been testing Syria's Russian-supplied radar and air defenses, which would be an obstacle to any possible Western armed action.

Russia, which along with Iran is Damascus's chief ally, has provided most of Syria's arms and has access to a deep water naval base in the country.

Davutoglu said he planned to set out Turkey's case to the U.N. Security Council where Western powers are seeking, against Russian and Chinese opposition, to push through a motion that could allow stronger measures against Assad.

Moscow has made clear it would continue to veto such a move, which it fears could undermine its interests in Syria and wreak anarchy. That apparent inevitability forces the focus for any stronger action on NATO.

Davutoglu said the jet was unarmed and had been on a solo mission to test domestic radar systems, but acknowledged it had briefly crossed Syrian airspace in the area close to both countries' maritime frontiers 15 minutes before it was hit.

"Our plane was shot at a distance of 13 sea miles from Syria's border in international airspace," Davutoglu said.

"According to the radar images, our plane lost contact with headquarters after it was hit and because the pilot lost control, it crashed into Syrian waters after making abnormal movements," he said. "Throughout this entire period no warning was made to our plane."

As if to underline its military reach, Turkey's military announced that over the last three days it had carried out air strikes in northern Iraq against nine bases for Kurdish militants fighting for greater autonomy in southeastern Turkey.

6 ways Emma Stone lays on the charm

Carlos Alvarez / Getty Images

By Cody Delistraty

Emma Stone has had a slew of red carpet appearances and interviews lately to promote ?The Amazing Spider-Man,? but it?s been nothing but a breeze for the charismatic actress.

It seems no one?is immune to her understated beauty?and self-deprecating charm. In fact, her New York Magazine profile was so glistening that some article commenters lambasted its ?girl crush? tone. Her fashion sense has been the center of envious attention, and her off-screen relationship with her "Spider-Man" co-star Andrew Garfield (which she?s reticent to publicly discuss) seems to be going swimmingly.

Clearly, Stone is doing?something right. Taking a page out of Dale Carnegie?s famous self-help book, ?How to Win Friends and Influence People,? she?s smiling, listening and appreciating her rise to the ("Easy") A-list, making us fall deeper in love with her one step at a time.

From her PowerPoint-fueled Hollywood start to her humble rise to success, here are six ways that Emma Stone has won us over:

Ambitious adolescence
At 14, Stone enrolled as a freshman at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Ariz.,?but she wanted to go to Los Angeles to be in the movies. So, as she recounted to Blackbook Magazine,?one day she hurried home, made a PowerPoint entitled "Project Hollywood 2004," set it to Madonna?s ?Hollywood? and used it to convince her parents to let her drop out of school and move to L.A. to audition for film and TV. Her mother stayed with her, homeschooling the Scottsdale, Ariz., native through high school.

Discerning choice of roles
Although ?The Amazing Spider-Man? will likely be the role that reaches the biggest audience, her success has been climbing ever since she starred as the heart-meltingly hot high-school dream girl Jules in ?Superbad.? She honed her comedic chops alongside co-star Jonah Hill before showing that con artists can be silly and sexy in ?Zombieland,??and then, drum roll please, ?Easy A? and??Crazy, Stupid, Love? helped perfect her smart, sexy, wry sense of humor which she followed with a serious turn in "The Help," establishing?a?hilarious, serious, various?persona?for the Emma Stone?we now know and love. ? ?

Trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man," in which Emma Stone plays Gwen Stacy. Opens July 3.

Self-deprecating humor
The way Stone combines her sarcastic humor with real vulnerability has proven to be her siren song. Her turn as Olive Penderghast, a?high-school student who video?diaries her misunderstood "Scarlet Letter"-inspired life in "Easy A,"?allowed Stone to showcase a witty, cultured,?willing-to-be-humbled character?who's nothing but?unforgettable.?We hope she won?t use?her?siren song?to crash us into a cliff, though, because when she turns on the comedic charm, it?s impossible to look away.

Approachability
Between press tours, filming, photo shoots, interviews and maintaining some semblance of a personal life, the natural blonde seems nothing like the average 23-year-old. But compared to the likes of Angelina Jolie or Sean Penn -- who are off?doing good in?Cambodia and Haiti, respectively -- her stateside sensibility lends?itself to greater?approachability and relatability. We're sure she'll take up a cause or two when she's older and more firmly entrenched in the Hollywood elite, but for now, Stone?s youthful, live-in-the-Hollywood moment?sensibility?is a surprisingly?appreciated repose from the busy, hyperaffluent, seemingly out-of-touch movie star we're used to.

Understated (yet unbelievable) looks
Sony Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper noted that with red hair, Stone looks less?like ?someone who will steal your boyfriend,? according to New York Magazine. But whether she?s a redhead, blonde or brunette, the actress, who?s now?the new face of Revlon, could steal a boyfriend or two?sporting any hair color. ?The pretty thing ... it was never a value to me growing up,? she told the magazine, adding that she signed with Revlon so young girls would know they don?t have to look like models to be beautiful.?To?judge for yourself whether she doesn't have?the looks of a model,?here are a?few of her?"Spider-Man" red carpet looks.?(For the record, yes, she's model material.)

She?s not the center of the world (but she is)
Perhaps the most refreshing?-- although most?difficult to believe?-- quality of Stone is that she isn?t too interested in herself or in?sharing her stories. ?I freak out having a Facebook? she told New York Magazine, noting that she only wants her closest friends to know the most personal details of her life, specifically concerning Garfield. Yet, considering the fact that?her face seems to dominate the newstand (now on the?July?Vogue cover), if she wanted to tell story after self-centered story, we're sure millions would be glad to perk up and listen.

Tune into the TODAY show Tuesday for an interview with Emma Stone. Check your local listings for air time.

Adsense secrets are exposed, home based business ... - Carecrunch

Numerous publishers like the ease with which Google?s AdSense enables them to produce dollars for their troubles. This program, however, does not normally function like it is supposed to. Must advertisements fully unrelated to a site?s theme continue to pop up, tweaking the system could possibly be as a way to defend earnings prospective.
Google has been working difficult to appropriate this problem, but you will discover items publishers can do on their own to increase their chances of obtaining ads that match content. A lot of the measures are pretty quick to employ. Considering that they?re able to outcome in better revenue, they?re worth considering if mismatched advertisements hold appearing.
AdSense is a simple plan to work from home, to start online jobs, easy methods to generate income from dwelling, get adsense ready sites, adsense internet websites: it?s an awesome kind of an advertising bringing loads of benefits to just about every individual within the chain. And of course, seeing the results it may have on a business (and also a publisher) folks encourage this kind of publicity.
But why does it function for the people clicking the links, as opposed to a standard approach
It truly is aided by today?s society. With bloggers and information and facts based articles on the web, people might be encouraged to full purchases, which adsense can give links to relevant suppliers whilst also benefiting the publisher.
Plus the great factor about this really is that it works for web page visitors as well. In fact Google realized that by pleasing the people who?re seeking for anything, and directing them to what they want more rapidly, everyone wins.
It is actually because of this that a lot of web-sites promote via AdSense in each content material and search. They do it because they ultimately learned that it operates for everybody.
If we look previously, we are able to understand that this kind of publicity features a great influence more than the people, particularly within the last couple of years. When we enter on a web internet site and we see a graphical banner, our initially concept is usually to cancel it out of our mind, for the reason that it?s of no concern to us.
That is why standard banner advertising is wrong. It is precisely since men and women are becoming savvy that they do not look at a flashy banner since they believe they will be losing their time with it.
We?ve gotten accustomed to banners that don?t interest us. And we?re accustomed to them possessing good graphics. So we naturally associate the two factors and think that a banner with nice graphics has absolutely nothing to tell us.
But we may possibly have a look at a text-ad simply because we?ve grown accustomed to them being targeted at what we?re looking for. Basically these advertisements have marketed themselves into being looked at by any visitor.
This can be a typical ?no fluff, just stuff? situation. And in the end it implies the guests will see what they are thinking about, not some random cool graphics you throw at them.
As stated above, site visitors adopt this marketing mechanism, because it is efficient in top them to pages of interest and may provide ton of things they actually wish to see. Someone coming across an post on adsense was almost certainly looking for shoes or doing investigation on shoes once they came across the post.
And most importantly for everybody, like visitors, this scheme can only increase as the course of action gets further refined to create ads more relevant to what you are searching for, not just a few keywords and phrases on an internet site.

Assad forms new cabinet as violence flares in Syria

President Bashar al-Assad formed a new cabinet with key posts unchanged as more than 100 people were reported killed in violence across Syria.

At least 16 government troops were killed on Sunday in clashes with rebel fighters in the northern province of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

"The clashes happened almost simultaneously at dawn," the Observatory's Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP in Beirut by telephone.

The fighting took place in the town of Dara Aza, and at military checkpoints near the town of Al-Atarib and the village of Kafr Halab, the Britain-based watchdog said.

The Observatory reported that, following an attack on an artillery battalion, a number of soldiers defected, taking a large number of weapons with them.

"This is one of the bloodiest weeks in the conflict," Abdel Rahman said.

Meanwhile Turkey downplayed the Syrian shooting down of a Turkish plane, acknowledging one of its warplanes may have violated Syrian airspace after Damascus confirmed shooting down the F-4 Phantom on Friday, in comments seen as a bid to cool the latest spat between the former allies.

"An unidentified aerial target violated Syrian airspace, coming from the west at a very low altitude and at high speed over territorial waters," a Syrian military spokesman told the official SANA news agency.

Anti-aircraft batteries hit the plane about a kilometre from the coast and it crashed some 10 kilometres (six miles) off Latakia province, he added.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul said it was not unusual for warplanes flying at high speed to cross maritime borders, stressing that such actions were not "ill-intentioned."

Naval forces from both nations were searching for the two missing crew.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 102 people, two-thirds of them civilians, were killed in violence across the country on Saturday as regime forces stepped up attacks on towns.

The Britain-based monitoring group said 69 civilians were killed in bombardment of rebel bastions, including a family of six in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.

Nineteen soldiers were killed in fighting with rebels, of whom four also died, the Observatory said, adding that 10 troops were gunned down as they tried to defect to anti-regime forces.

On Friday, at least 116 people were reported killed.

The International Committee of the Red Cross condemned the killing of a Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteer, in the fourth such incident in the country's deadly unrest.

Bashar al-Youssef, 23, was shot and fatally wounded on Friday in Deir Ezzor in eastern Syria, the two organisations said in a joint statement.

"This comes at a time when the ICRC and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent are virtually the only organisations able to work in areas affected by the violence in Syria," said Alexandre Equey, deputy head of the ICRC's delegation in the country.

On the political front, Assad announced the formation of a new government with the key foreign, defence and interior ministry portfolios unchanged, less than two months after controversial parliamentary elections boycotted by the opposition.

"President Bashar al-Assad has issued Decree 210 forming a new government under Prime Minister Dr Riad Hijab," state television said.

Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem remains in his post, along with the defence and interior ministers, Daoud Rajha and Mohammad al-Shaar.

Rajha, in the post since August, was among those sanctioned by the United States for his role in the deadly crackdown on Syrian protesters.

Abdel Basset Sayda, head of the main opposition Syrian National Council, dismissed the new line-up as a sham aiming "to give the impression that reforms have been brought in."

He said there was "no real change," with key posts unchanged.

The new cabinet assumes power amid an intensification of repression and clashes, which last week led to the the halt of the United Nations observer mission.

Britain's Guardian newspaper, meanwhile, reported that Saudi Arabia was set to pay the salaries of the rebel Free Syrian Army, several of whose fighters who defected from the regular army are based in Turkey, to encourage mass defections.

Turkey-Syria relations were already strained by Erdogan's outspoken condemnation of the Assad government's bloody crackdown that rights activists say has killed more than 15,000 people since March 2011.

The downing of the F-4 is the most serious incident between the two countries since then, but Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc played down the tensions.

"We should be calm ... Yes, we accept this is a critical matter but we don't have clear information," he told Anatolia news agency, adding that the results of the ongoing investigation would be publicised "as soon as possible."

In neighbouring Iraq, Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari warned that the Syrian crisis might spill over.

"Our main concern is the spillover of the crisis... into neighbouring countries, and no country is immune from this spillover because of the composition of the societies... the connections, the sectarian ethnic dimensions," he told reporters.

The New York Times profiles Apple's retail business

The New York Times published a lengthy report today regarding Apple?s retail operations. The article covers a few aspects of the business, but most of it focuses on the employees.

Following the tone of its previous piece on Apple?s supply chain, The Times paints a bleak picture of Apple?s retail employees, describing them as overworked and underpaid?

The entire thing can really be summed up by the first paragraph:

?Last year, during his best three-month stretch, Jordan Golson sold about $750,000 worth of computers and gadgets at the Apple Store in Salem, N.H. It was a performance that might have called for a bottle of Champagne ? if that were a luxury Mr. Golson could have afforded.?

Dividing Apple?s overall retail revenue by the number of its employees, the author calculates that, on average, each of them ? including non-sales staff ? made the company $473,000 last year. Wow. Compare that to the average employee?s salary of $25,000 a year, and we admit, it looks sketchy.

But it?s not like Apple is underpaying its employees. The article redeems itself from being a total witch hunt by pointing out that the company actually offers above average pay compared to most other retailers, and surprisingly?good benefits. Each employee is offered health care, 401(k) contributions and substantial discounts on Apple products.

Aside from the pay, The Times outlines a number of other complaints from current and former Apple Store workers, including limited upward mobility, and constant stress from the ever-increasing foot traffic. It also claims that according to internal surveys, employee satisfaction at several locations is ?surprisingly low,? especially among technicians.

Of course, Apple refuted the claim, and issued the following statement:

?Thousands of incredibly talented professionals work behind the Genius Bar and deliver the best customer service in the world. The annual retention rate for Geniuses is almost 90%, which is unheard-of in the retail industry, and shows how passionate they are about their customers and their careers at Apple.?

The entire article is worth a read ? if only for its insight into the lives of Apple Store employees. It really could have done without the?cynicism?though. Newsflash: not everyone in the world ? especially in retail ? is always happy with their job.

Is your leaf left-handed?

Friday, June 22, 2012

The front of a leaf is different from the back of a leaf and the tip is different from the base. However, a leaf from a tomato or an Arabidopsis plant superficially appears to be bilaterally symmetrical, or the same on the left and right sides. Don't let its appearance fool you; there is an underlying asymmetry between the left and right sides of such leaves?it just took a while for scientists to discover it. The story begins with the mechanism by which leaves form along a stem. In broad-leafed plants, dicots, leaves form from the meristem, an actively dividing tissue at the top of the plant, so that as you look down the stem, the oldest leaves are at the bottom. Leaves don't just become arranged by random chance either?phyllotaxis, the arrangement of leaves or flowers along a stem, affects key plant characteristics, such as how much light can filter through to lower leaves. Leaves can form opposite each other, or in alternation, or in whorls; often leaves form in spirals where the next leaf is offset by roughly 137 degrees, known as the "golden angle", which is related to the Fibonacci sequence.

Recent research has shown that leaf initiation in the meristem is specified by locally high concentrations of the plant hormone auxin. In a study published in The Plant Cell, an international group coordinated by Neelima R. Sinha, Ph.D., of the University of California at Davis, examined how the pattern of auxin concentrations might affect the symmetry of the leaf. She explains, "As leaves are initiated within a spiral context, we might expect that they would be asymmetric and exhibit the same handedness of the spiral, like propeller blades. Yet, superficially many leaves appear symmetrical." To examine whether the spiral pattern of leaves affected symmetry, her team first modeled the anatomy of the forming leaves and the location of the highest concentrations of auxin, finding that the two were not perfectly aligned. Following up, they found that this difference caused asymmetry at both the molecular level, altering gene expression, and the anatomical level, altering leaf shape, in tomato and Arabidopsis thaliana leaves. Indeed, the authors found measurable anatomical differences between the left and right sides of both young and mature leaves, identifying a previously overlooked axis of asymmetry.

Dr. Sinha summarizes: "Our results show that asymmetry is indeed very much present in the leaves around us and that the spiral, within which they are initiated, influences their development from the earliest stages. Quite literally, the handedness of the spiral in plants transmits its asymmetry to leaves. By studying these asymmetries, we can begin to understand the mechanisms by which plants produce such a staggering array of leaf shapes in such regular arrangements."

Higgs boson buzz goes through ups and downs

CERN / CMS Collaboration

A computer graphic shows a typical Higgs boson candidate event, including two high-energy photons whose energy (depicted by red towers) is measured in the Compact Muon Solenoid's electromagnetic calorimeter. The yellow lines are the measured tracks of other particles produced in the collision. The pale blue volume represents the CMS' crystal calorimeter barrel.

By Alan Boyle

A week ago, sources started passing the word that physicists were "fired up" about further evidence for the existence of the Higgs boson, the last undiscovered particle predicted by the Standard Model and the main quarry for the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider.

That blaze of buzz reached a high point this week, when Columbia mathematician Peter Woit reported "reliable rumors"?that the confidence level for a detection of the Higgs' signature in the mass range of around 125 billion electron-volts, or 125 GeV, was increasing.

"CERN will soon have to decide how to spin this: will they announce discovery of the Higgs, or will they wait for some overwhelmingly convincing standard to be met, such as 5 sigma in at least one channel of one experiment?" Woit wrote.

"Sigma" refers to the statistical confidence that a given result is more than a fluke, with 5 sigma serving as the gold standard for a discovery. If you're a Higgs-watcher, you'll be hearing a lot about sigma in the next couple of weeks, leading up to the International Conference on High-Energy Physics, or ICHEP, in Australia from July 4 to 11. That's when the LHC's teams are due to provide a status report on the search for the Higgs.?

The Higgs hunt is hot because physicists have hypothesized about the boson for 40 years as part of the mechanism by which some particles acquire mass while others don't. The Higgs is so fundamental to the frontier of physics that Fermilab's Leon Lederman once called it the "God Particle"?? a term that most other physicists positively hate.?Finding it in the mass range where it's expected to be would serve as solid confirmation for the Standard Model, one of the most successful theories in the history of science. Not finding it would be more interesting: Physicists would have to consider some other mechanism, outside the Standard Model, to explain particle mass. And there's nothing theorists love more than a challenge like that.

In December, the teams behind the ATLAS and CMS detectors reported "tantalizing hints" of a Higgs detection at 125 GeV, with confidence levels of 3.6 sigma for ATLAS and 2.6 sigma for CMS. If the additional observations made since then show the same sorts of hints, those sigma levels should go up?? and that's been the gist of the buzz over the last week or so. For science geeks, that's a big deal, or at least a big meme: so big that the hashtag #HiggsRumors was for a time on top of Twitter's trending list, Discovery News' Jennifer Ouelette noted.

A lot of that trending took place because of the in-jokes spawned by the original buzz ??which has now fallen to a steady hum, thanks to a string of reality checks.

"Please do not believe the blogs," ATLAS spokeswoman Fabiola Gianotti told The New York Times. "I am very surprised that rumors appear on a subject that is really evolving daily," CMS spokesman Guido Tonelli told Science News. "The experimenters can't possibly have their data in presentable form yet, so the rumors can't be correct in every detail," Rutgers theoretical physicist Matt Strassler observed on his blog.

Union College physicist Chad Orzel, the author of "How to Teach Relativity to Your Dog," said the celebrity-level hype was?"the price of success":

"I mean, it?s not an accident that there?s a lot of excitement about the maybe-sorta-kinda discovery of the Higgs. This is the product of years of relentless hype from the particle physics community. They've been talking about this goddamn particle for longer than I've been running this blog, and it's finally percolated out into the general public consciousness enough that buzz about it can trend on Twitter. Complaining that your persistent effort to get people to care about particle physics esoterica has led to people being excited about particle physics esoterica seems more than a little churlish.

"So, lighten up. Revel in the success of your hype machine. God knows, if there were a Twitter trending topic about Bose-Einstein Condensation or anything else in atomic physics, I?d do the Happy Dance all the way down the hall. You?ve worked hard to make your elusive particle a celebrity, now reap the rewards."

The true reaping will come in a couple of weeks.?As Reuters' Robert Evans reported, the most recent readings from ATLAS and CMS are being analyzed in isolation, so that one team's conclusions don't influence the other team. Until the ICHEP actually takes place, hype is just about all we'll hear about. But in the meantime, get ready for the real news by reviewing these resources:

Children Exposed to HIV in the Womb at Increased Risk for Hearing ...

NIH study shows risk greater for HIV-infected children than for uninfected peers

Bethesda, Maryland--(ENEWSPF)--June 21, 2012. ?Children exposed to HIV in the womb may be more likely to experience hearing loss by age 16 than are their unexposed peers, according to scientists in a National Institutes of Health research network.

The researchers estimated that hearing loss affects 9 to 15 percent of HIV-infected children and 5 to 8 percent of children who did not have HIV at birth but whose mothers had HIV infection during pregnancy. Study participants ranged from 7 to 16 years old.

The researchers defined hearing loss as the level at which sounds could be detected, when averaged over four frequencies important for speech understanding (500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hertz), that was 20 decibels or higher than the normal hearing level for adolescents or young adults in either ear.

?Children exposed to HIV before birth are at higher risk for hearing difficulty, and it's important for them?and the health providers who care for them?to be aware of this,? said George K. Siberry, M.D., of the Pediatric, Adolescent, and Maternal AIDS Branch of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), the NIH institute that leads the research network.

Compared to national averages for other children their age, children with HIV infection were about 200 to 300 percent more likely to have a hearing loss. Children whose mothers had HIV during pregnancy but who themselves were born without HIV were 20 percent more likely than to have hearing loss. The study was published online in The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal.

?If parents and teachers know the child has a hearing problem, then they may take measures to compensate in various communication settings, such as placement in the front of the classroom or avoiding noisy settings,? explained Howard Hoffman, M.A., director of the Epidemiology and Statistics Program at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), which provides funding to the network for studies related to hearing and language.

Even a mild hearing loss in children can delay the acquisition of language skills. More severe hearing loss may require the use of assistive devices, such as a hearing aid. Information on hearing and deafness is available from NIDCD.

To determine the types of hearing loss the children experienced, the researchers conducted these evaluations:

  • Physical examination of the ear canal
  • Evaluation of the middle ear function, how sound vibrations are transmitted through the middle ear bones
  • Responses to tones presented over earphones

Hearing loss may occur from damage to the bones and structures in the ear canal and inner ear, or from damage to the nerves leading to the brain.

First author Peter Torre III, Ph.D., of San Diego State University, led the study with Hoffman, Siberry and six other coauthors. Collaborators were from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston; the University of Kansas, Lawrence; and Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans.

The research was conducted as part of the Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study network, led by NICHD in cooperation with and with cofounding from NIDCD and several other NIH institutes, including: the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

More than 200 children and teenagers participated.? All had been exposed to HIV before birth, and about 60 percent were HIV-positive at the time of the study. Researchers conducted hearing tests on the children if their parents or caregivers had reported hearing problems, they had low scores on a standard test of language or their health care providers detected hearing problems during standard hearing screenings.

The researchers classified participants who could not hear tones below a certain volume as having hearing loss with difficulties in quiet and noisy settings. The researchers documented a greater proportion of hearing loss cases among HIV-positive children and found that those who had developed AIDS at any point were even more likely to have hearing loss?even if the disease was under control at the time of the study.

Earlier studies have found that children with HIV are susceptible to middle ear infections. Repeated middle ear infections can cause hearing loss. However, in 60 percent of cases in the study, hearing loss was the result of problems with the transmission of sound from the nerves of the ear to the brain, rather than to damage in the middle ear resulting from ear infections.

?Although ear infections are more common among children with HIV, these do not appear to be the reason their hearing is more likely to be compromised,? said Torre.

What To Do When Your Man Walks Out On You - Huffington Post

Your heart was fully in it, you were tied to him emotionally and physically, and now he is gone. If you are like many other women, this may cause you to end up in the fetal position in a pile of despair.

The time immediately following a breakup can be filled with a myriad of uncomfortable and painful feelings from shock to rage and everything in between. However, with the right steps, you can come through the experience a better, wiser, stronger and even more beautiful woman.

The first step to getting through this successfully is to know that living without him is possible. This may seem like a simple clich? but it actually is quite important. This step begins by understanding that the pain you're feeling will eventually pass. Initially, it may seem as if you will never feel happy or love again. In this initial stage, seeing blissful couples and hearing love songs will only exaggerate your heartache. You may even cry for days, weeks or months, but the pain and tears will stop. Knowing this helps you to gracefully move through it instead of getting stuck in it.

The second step is a time of allowing. In this stage, you willingly give yourself permission to grieve. The grieving that needs to occur is over the loss of him, the relationship and the picture you held of your future together. The four stages of the grieving process are denial, bargaining, anger and acceptance. The wonderful thing about this process is that it is naturally occurring. However, if you stop this process by diving into a new relationship, drinking, shopping or working overtime to avoid your feelings, you circumvent your healing from the breakup. Therefore, it is vital that you allow yourself to feel your feelings, process through them and complete the grieving process.

Step three involves what I like to refer to as "going to the truth." In any life or relationship experience, the truth will always lead you to the right path. The truth in this situation is that if he left, he is not your Mr. Right. That deserves repeating for in its simplicity. Freedom from the pain can be found. He is not the man for you because if he was, he would still be in your life. Yes, there are couples who need time apart to heal and grow in order to come back together. Even if this is the case for you, at this moment right now, he is not the right one. Wrapping your mind around this truth will set you emotionally free to grow, heal and move forward.

The fourth step is one of incredible opportunity, for it's a time of self-reflection. To accomplish this stage you must honestly look at yourself, your relationship and any role you may have played in your man leaving. Even if he is afraid of commitment, you now have the chance to discover why you attracted such a partner into your life in the first place. Perhaps he left because he felt he could never please you or that you were too demanding. In either case, there's room here for you to attain positive personal growth. This step takes a great depth of character and courage, as it is never easy to look at ourselves and admit there is work to be done. Most would rather blame the other person and continue on in a state of self-delusion or rationalization. However, the more in-depth and seriously you take this step; the better off you will be in the long run.

As you become aware of what needs healing within you, be sure to do so with love and gentle care. This is not the time to beat yourself up or feel remorse, guilt or shame, as these feelings keep you stuck in a negative cycle. It is, however, a time to get to know yourself on a deeper level and heal those parts of you that are holding you back from having the right partner and relationship.

Finally, as you move through all these healing steps, you come to the place of renewal. This is the time to breathe new life into you and your life. This is an empowered place as you can create the beautiful life that is right for you. You can choose to fill your days and nights with experiences that bring you genuine joy, happiness and peace. Actually, this has a dual positive affect on you and your life. You see, when you create your life the way you want it to be, you are allowing personal fulfillment and happiness to come in. As well, you are naturally opening the door for your real Mr. Right to walk through. Your new open door will reveal a whole, complete, happy and thriving woman, instead of a broken, battered and bruised one. You simple make the choice in this step to empower yourself and become all you are meant to be.

Having a man walk out on you is never easy. However, you have the choice to look at his leaving as a tragedy or a blessing. If you see it as a blessing, you will allow yourself to grow and heal. You take all of the good and leave the rest behind. You forge ahead to a stronger, healthier, and more thriving life. A far better choice to make than staying on the floor crying in the fetal position over a man who is not right for you anyway!
